For 2018, the third model year after the redesign, the Chevrolet Volt comes with only a few minor updates. The base LT grade received a vinyl shift knob cover and steering wheel along with the new Driver Confidence package that offers blind-spot monitoring, rear park assist and rear cross-traffic alert. Three new color options added to the model’s palette complete the range of updates made for 2018. Otherwise, the model continues to deliver an excellent combination of an attractive look, easy-to-drive nature and generous equipment. The 2018 Chevrolet Volt takes its power from a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a 1.5 L gasoline engine, electric motor, and li-ion battery. In total, the system generates 149 hp and its all-electric range tops out at 53 miles. Using its gas power unit, the model can deliver up to 420 miles of total range. The battery can be partially charged on the move from regenerative braking, though to charge it completely, you’ll need to plug it in. The Volt comes with a Regen on Demand feature that allows you to control energy regeneration through the paddle located on the back of the steering wheel.

The base LT trim level of the 2018 Chevrolet Volt comes with a broad range of standard features including LED tail lights and DRLs, 17” wheels, remote start, keyless entry and ignition, leather steering wheel, and automatic climate control. On the tech front, the model features an OnStar system that offers Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity, smartphone integration, reconfigurable gauge cluster and driver info display, 8” touchscreen with the corporate MyLink interface, Bluetooth, and 6-speaker audio system. All variants of the Volt come with a rear-view camera, 10 airbags and Teen Driver feature, all standard. The model offers a Comfort package that is optional on the LT grade and standard on the Premier. The package includes a heated steering wheel, mirrors and front seats as well as leather upholstery. An 8-speaker audio system by Bose is a standalone option.
