As for other updates, the Plug-in Hybrid model launched in the middle of 2017 is available from the start of the 2018 model year. The vehicle employs the base 2.0 L turbo I4 delivering 265 hp and two electric motors located in the transmission. The system also includes lithium-ion battery generating 18.4 kWh. The power is sent to the wheels via an advanced electric variable transmission. Producing total output of 335 hp, the powertrain enables the 2018 Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid to deliver 31 miles of electric range. In hybrid mode, the car returns 26 mpg, and on electricity alone, it provides 62 MPGe (both combined). The new CT6 also offers three gasoline power plants. The base one is a 2.0 L turbo I4 capable of producing 265 hp, a 3.6 L V6 good for 335 hp is optional, and the line-topping offering is a 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 rated at 404 hp. All gas engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic.
