If you have noticed any signs of worn tires like sidewall cracks or excessive thread wear, don’t wait too long to replace them. This is because old rubber with low tread cannot provide an appropriate grip and traction resulting in hydroplaning and other loss of vehicle control. Aftermarket tires are designed in multiple types to meet various weather and road conditions. Depending on the climate and conditions they are subject to, they have different pattern designs. Besides, they are made using different rubber compounds. Some of them are built to provide year-round performance in mild climates. They typically come with a multi-rib pattern which links the tread blocks in order to reduce tread flex resulting in quieter driving. All-seasons also feature sipes, which increase traction in wet road conditions.
Summer tires are designed to be used in hot climates where temperatures can go above 86 degrees. They typically have shallow channels and just a few sipes to provide a proper grip in both dry and wet conditions. Winter rubber is manufactured from soft rubber compounds which don’t harden at cold temperatures. They have an aggressive tread pattern to provide good traction in snow, ice, and slush. Whatever type of 2003 Ford Expedition tires you are in need of, we have you covered with our wide selection.
