Jay-Z Edition Jeep Commander Almost Rolled Out

In an unauthorized biography, "Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went from Street Corner to Corner Office," the Forbes magazine editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg mentions about a cross-promotional deal between Chrysler and the multiplatinum hip-hop artist and entrepreneur. Jay-Z was going to lend his name to a special-edition Jeep Commander up to that moment when Chrysler executives got acquainted with the artist's criminal past and let the collaboration languish in the boardroom. Therefore, the Jay-Z edition Jeep Commander never rolled out.

According to New York Times, the model would have been painted in hip-hop's favorite color, which is blue. It would also be fitted with 22-inch chrome wheels and cream-colored leather interior. Special-edition Jeep Commander would have been preloaded with a digital entertainment system featuring Jay-Z's discography, too.
