    1998 F-150 XLT
    Installed on a 1998 F150 XLT single cab, 5spd manual, 4x4 with EGR, 145,000 miles (roughly). Reason I purchased the headers was because a crack in my original headers which was about an inch long, centimeter wide on the passenger side. The installation would have been a lot more easy if the engine wasn't so dirty. I had a total of six bolts break off inside the block and had to drill some out, weld on them, and use a bolt extractor. Had to replace both o2 sensors (up stream). Very easy to put on once engine was ready. Looks good and put the stock exhaust back on with the help of a lift with a 2x4 board going across to the other side. Once the truck started up there was a lot of smoke from weld marks, engine cleaner, WD-40, and other compounds. New headers work better than imagined. More quiet than ever before and seems to run a lot smoother. Before the work was done I was running open headers with a misfire somewhere in the engine. If you're going to install yourself I suggest also installing new plugs, o2 sensors (up stream & down stream) and a new EGR valve. Only part I was disappointed in was that it took almost five weeks after I ordered the headers to get them.
