The Fiat 500 is a subcompact car produced by the Italian automaker Fiat. The first time this car was announced in 2006, but officially it was launched only in 2007. A four-seater, three-door hatchback was also badged as the Nuova 500 and Cinquecento. Two petrol and one diesel engines were available at launch, however the range of engines was enlarged later, and the latest unit modification, Twin Air two-cylinder engine, was announced at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. A NICE Car Company's electrical Fiat 500 was unveiled first at the London Auto Show. It featured a lithium polymer battery, which was able to run the car to up to 70 miles.

The Fiat 500 is offered in four trim levels: Naked, Pop, Lounge, and Sport. The North American sales of the latest Fiat 500 generation started with the preorders and the production was scheduled to start in December 2010.
