The Armada is a full-size SUV by Nissan, manufactured since 2003. Designed to keep pace with a booming demand for big and powerful SUVs like the Hummer H2, the Armada originally shared the platform with the Nissan Titan. Dimensionally, the second-generation Armada is longer and wider than its predecessor, while the wheelbase was shortened to ensure a more rational use of interior space. Its brand-new interior is almost identical to that of the QX80 and therefore is luxurious, as you can expect from a higher-priced Infiniti. The legroom is somewhat shrunk compared to the previous generation, especially in the third row of seats. Cargo capacity is also compromised and is now rated at 95.4 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded and just 16.5 cubic feet behind the rear seat. Towing capacity, though, stands at excellent 8,500 pounds.

The 2017 Nissan Armada features the new, more powerful powertrain as well. A 5.6-liter V8 “Endurance” engine produces 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. A smooth seven-speed automatic gearbox can be coupled with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The 2017 Armada hasn’t inherited most of Patrol’s hard-core off-road features. Although, thanks to a 9.1-inch clearance, standard all-wheel drive, optional 20-inch wheels, and two-speed transfer case, this large SUV can still do well off the road, especially if properly equipped.
