That figure makes the first off-road capable vehicle from Bentley the fastest production SUV in the world (as of summer 2016).

The Bentayga is built on Volkswagen’s MLB platform, a unibody design used by Volkswagen Group for big top-end SUVs. However, while sharing principal structural components with its corporate cousins, the third-gen Porsche Cayenne, second-gen Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg, and the Lamborghini Urus, the Bentayga uses about 80% of unique components in its construction. Perhaps, the first on the list of novelties is Bentley’s Dynamic Ride system. BDR was developed exclusively for the Bentayga, since the combination of a 600-hp engine, elevated center of gravity and 5,672 lb of curb weight seemed like a proper recipe for a trouble, or, at least, for a compromised driving experience, which is not tolerable for Bentley. What Bentley engineers (well, Volkswagen engineers, to be precise) ended up with is a sophisticated system incorporating electrically controlled active anti-roll bars, air suspension and adaptive dampers. The system has already proved to be a brilliant solution ensuring excellent stability at speed and equally excellent ride over a bumpy road.
