The Ford F-150 full-size truck can be considered to be the greatest product that the Dearborn-based company has ever created. The best-selling vehicle in the U.S.A. since 1981, the Ford F-150 has managed to reach the top thanks to its utility and versatility, allowing it to perfectly fit the demands of pretty much every full-size truck shopper. Another ingredient for success is flexibility of the model range and new features keeping the truck fresh year after year. And there is no exception for the 2012 year model that has brought another handful of changes to the Ford F-150 lineup.

The 2012 year model belongs to the F-150’s twelfth generation that was launched in 2008. With powertrain upgrades introduced just a year before and the exterior refreshment scheduled for 2013, the list of changes for the 2012 year is pretty short. The FX2 and FX4 F-150s add a special appearance package bringing a couple of flat black panels outside and red stitching and lettering for the interior. While all 4x4 models gain a neutral tow capability feature allowing for flat towing, the King Ranch and other top-of-the-range models swap a limited-slip rear differential for an electronically controlled one. The 4WD EcoBoost-powered versions also get a larger 36-gallon fuel tank as standard equipment.

For the high-performance SVT Raptor, Ford is now ready to offer an advanced locking front diff from Torsen. To let the driver make maximum use of improved off-road capability, the truck also gains a front camera mounted low and tuned to show what is in front of each of the tires. Besides that, the steroid-pumped Ford F-150 has got an array of minor design tweaks meant to further set the truck apart from its simpler counterparts.

How much fun you have in your SVT Raptor of how much utility you get from a regular Ford F-150 depends on how well it’s maintained and equipped. These headlights are really cool and light up the road in front of me really well. They fit ok, had to use a little strength to get them in place but I made it work. The plug for the turn signal is actually polarized, if you plug it in, one side of the turn signal works and it may be sequential ( I don't actually know it didn't work for me) and the DRL bar doesn't light up but the four square lights illuminate so that is where wiring of the DRL bar would happen. If you unplug and flip the plug around and plug it back in, everything lights up without additional wiring but the turn signal is not sequential. It is confusing and cool how it works. I have it the non-sequential way and it is just as cool as the sequential way, who knows I might try the additional wiring way. Anyway, the lights are very cool and it lights up the roadway just fine.
