Wilwood has put great efforts into developing a superior line of drag race brake kits that have become a favorite choice for drag racers thanks to their extreme durability and outstanding stopping power. The Drag Race Plain Brake Kit is engineered to match high requirements of drag racing. The package includes plain face rotors, reliable brake pads and calipers representing the latest racing technology. Wilwood plain face rotors ensure high resistance to thermal deformation with excellent friction and wear characteristics against the pads.

Fixed calipers by Wilwood offer unmatched stopping power. The pistons in fixed calipers are located on both sides of the disc, allowing for evenly distributed clamping force. They apply more squeezing power and apply it more evenly during braking as force is directly applied to both sides. Multi-piston calipers allow for more even braking and, as a result, less pad distortion. The more number of pistons a caliper has, the more clamping force it provides. Thanks to the evenly distributed pressure, these calipers ensure an even wear pattern along the entire length of the brake pad. Usually these calipers have smaller diameter pistons than single-piston calipers. Plain rotors by Wilwood offer the quietest operation out of all rotors as well as low dust and long pad life. They are a budget-friendly option for those drivers who can give up some performance but want to have reliable rotors.

Do not drive on untested brakes. Brakes must be tested after installation or maintenance.

Make sure pedal is firm: Hold firm pressure on pedal for several minutes, it should remain in position without sinking. If pedal sinks toward floor, check system for fluid leaks. DO NOT drive vehicle if pedal does not stay firm or can be pushed to the floor with normal pressure.
At very low speed (2-5 mph) apply brakes hard several times while turning steering from full left to full right, repeat several times. Remove the wheels and check that components are not touching, rubbing, or leaking.
Carefully examine all brake components, brake lines, and fittings for leaks and interference.
Make sure there is no interference with wheels or suspension components.
Drive vehicle at low speed (15-20 mph) making moderate and hard stops. Brakes should feel normal and positive. Again check for leaks and interference.
Always test vehicle in a safe place where there is no danger to (or from) other people or vehicles.
Always wear seat belts and make use of all safety equipment.

Amazing Stopping Power!

This brake kit was all included along with purchasing the steel braided brake lines, kit was easy to install and yielded incredible results over the stop braking capability. Would highly recommend this to anyone using their srt4 for auto cross or any type of short track racing.

Needs Tweaking

Product looks amazing on my 2014 GMC 1500 especially after a good car wash. Down side the brake pads create excessive brake dust. Not that impressed with the stopping ability especially from a 6 piston caliper.
