CalCat™ Direct Fit Catalytic Converter by Walker®. Walker offers complete coverage: direct-fit mufflers, converters, pipes, resonators and accessories. For safety and legal reasons, a faulty catalytic converter can’t be ignored. By transforming toxic gases into less harmful compounds, the catalytic converter does the important job of limiting emissions. If you are looking for a quality universal fit catalytic converter, you can rely on Walker as it has vast experience in manufacturing emission control devices. Walker produced crankcase emissions control equipment in the early 1960s and, working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), produced the 1st universal aftermarket catalytic converter in 1978.

Unlike the direct fit catalytic converters that come ready to install and are designed to fit your specific make and model with no alterations, the universal fit catalytic converters may require cutting, welding, and other modifications to complete installation.

Perfect Fit
Fairly easy install. I put the front end up on jacks and removed the passenger tire for ease of movement. Make sure to loosen the exhaust line at the mid-frame. Don't chance it, use new gaskets and use plenty of break-free before loosening the bolts. Take your time. You'll do better with narrow sockets. Snapped right into place with no issues. I have that weird All Wheel Drive model, so I was a bit nervous about the fit. Worked like a charm.

Quiet as a Mouse
It didn't look exactly like the picture and part I pulled, but fit like a glove and the install was pretty easy and straightforward. My only wish was that it came with new hardware, after 20+ years something's bound to get rusted and locked. All in all I'm very pleased with the outcome. The car no longer sounds like exhaust is blowing through a crumbled can.

Acceleration Back
Made the 97 a new truck, accelerated better than ever. Bolt on part but didn’t match perfectly so had to increase bends to fit but the end result was worth it.
