The Volkswagen Routan is a seven-passenger minivan produced by Volkswagen from 2008 till 2013. Based on the Chrysler RT platform, this vehicle is the rebadged and redesigned version of Chrysler's minivan. Being closely related to the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan, the Routan features a German makeover with its revised styling and redesigned front and rear. A six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive layout are standard for all four trim levels available for this model. The Routan is powered by either a 197 hp 3.8 L, 251 hp 4.0 L V6 or a stronger 283 hp 3.6 L V6 introduced for 2011.
