Product Details

Blow-Off Valve by Turbosmart®. Designed to provide greater performance through faster turbo spool-up from idle and reduced turbo lag between gears, it's tested and proven under the most demanding racing conditions to ensure the highest level of performance.

When the throttle closes and the intake system is under pressure, the high-pressure air entering the motor will bump into the closed throttle plate and a pressure wave will travel back to the turbocharger. As a result, the compressor wheel stalls and slows down very quickly resulting in premature bearings wear and shortened turbo’s lifespan. It means that the turbo will take longer to spin up the next time when the throttle is opened. A blow-off valve (BOV), or a vacuum-actuated valve designed to release the air to the atmosphere, releases pressure from the intake tract of a turbo car when the throttle closes.

Turbosmart offers you the Race port blow-off valve (BOV) that is redesigned from the Highest-flowing BOV and now features a unique collar design. It means the product is 46% lighter and 25% smaller than the product it replaces, while providing greater performance through faster turbo spool-up from idle and reduced turbo lag between gears. The product is designed for use on large-capacity turbocharger systems and high-horsepower engines. In addition, it's supplied with vacuum fittings, weld flange, and V-band assembly.

This Blow-Off Valve is the best upgrade one can make to a turbocharged car
This Blow-Off Valve is the best upgrade one can make to a turbocharged car: the OEM Blow-Off Valve is made with silence in mind, so to achieve this they bleed pressure which hurts performance while the turbo is building up pressure at low engine speeds. Noise with the recycle mode (not to Atmosphere) is really low, it can only be heard when releasing the gas pedal on a high gear. After testing and making calculation the new BOV gave my CX7 a more power and torque boost in the order of 4% and 10% for each, a lot more after tuning the ECU.

Perfect Fit
Fits perfect on my Subaru 2012 WRX, it very easy to install. Turbosmart even has a video to walk you through step by step on how to install it. Spring is easy to adjust. Best of both worlds running this 50/50 port: nice Blow-Off Valve plus afterfire sound on 4k+ RPM, and quietly recirculated for under 3k RPM. Most importantly no idling issues for the sensitive stock ECU. Also, Turbosmart is the brother company of TurboXS. Will Recommend!

Really Nice BOV
Been working on a little project 300whp Juke and this BOV is a really good addition. It's quiet when it should and loud as and when it should. It's not adjustable too. The build quality is good.
