TST TPMS Sensors

Most drivers know how important it is to maintain the right pressure in tires, in terms of handling, safety, and tire wear. However, it gets even more crucial in large trucks and recreational vehicles, with their higher loads and the prices on new tires. TPMS is an excellent solution in each case. While most OEM systems just light up the dash indicator leaving you to guess which tire needs servicing, their more sophisticated counterparts point out the exact tire and even let you know the real-time pressure in all of them, including the spare one in some models.

Truck System Technologies (TST) is a reputable manufacturer of such advanced TPMS systems for all kinds of trailers and RVs. Several years ago, it became part of Pressure Systems International, one of the global leaders in automatic tire inflation, which allowed the company to implement innovative technology and improve its products while making them more functional, reliable, and user-friendly. As a result, TST tire monitors have become quite popular among many outdoor enthusiasts and trailer owners. Most TST TPMS systems are available in kits that include a color or grayscale monitor, several sensors, repeater, and some other parts.

The number of TST tire sensors in a kit can vary from 2 to 8, and there can be the internal, cap, or so-called Flow Thru sensors. The second type resembles a cap and needs to be removed to add air, yet such sensors are compatible both with metal and rubber valve stems. Flow Thru sensors are somewhat bigger and require only metal valve stems; they don't need to be taken off to inflate the tire and have a user-replaceable battery. The repeater boosts the signal sent to the display which, in turn, can monitor the towing vehicle and up to four trailers. It shows real-time temperature and pressure in no more than 115 tires, no matter what kinds of the brand's sensors are installed there. Thanks to TST equipment, controlling tire pressure is easy as pie!
