14 Inch Off-Road Tires

Choosing the proper tires for off-road applications requires some considerations, depending on vehicle characteristics and the intended use. Some tires, for example, offer unrivaled performance on sand but are ineffective on ice; others can perform great on hard rocks and be unreliable on mud. However, the first selection is necessarily made according to the size of the wheel. Off-road tire size designations follow different rules than the traditional classification; a set of three figures identifies the type of tire. The first number refers to the diameter of the tire, the second to its width, and the third to the diameter of the rim.

Hence, having the size of the wheel as the starting point, you have many options to choose from, depending on the intended use, the climate, and specific requirements. Just be aware that each type of tires sacrifices some characteristics to enhance some other qualities. The tires designed for massive off-road use, for example, have worse on-road performance and tend to be noisy. Solid tires for the price
My ram 2500 feels unstoppable now. Took them out off-roading and they handled mud and rocky trails with no problem. For $250 a tire they're a great deal.

Solid All Terrain Tire
Switched to these on my '04 Tahoe. They've been okay on rain-soaked roads and offroad traction is nice as well. There's a bit more road noise than I expected on the highway, though.
