Just drop the tailgate and position the Insta-Gater with the anchors below the bed, then close the tailgate and tighten the straps with the ratcheting buckle.
The only thing that rivals the installation of the Insta-Gater for simplicity is the installation of the bike in the Insta-Gater. Just extend the hook arm to the full open position, position the bike in the bed with the front wheel in the Insta-Gater rack and against the tailgate. Raise the arm into position and ratchet it tightly against the wheel. And off you go!
