Outback Front Lifted Coil Springs with 3" Front Lift Height (1861102) by TeraFlex®. Quantity: 2 per Pack. The Outback coil springs received special consideration and attention concerning spring rate tuning and development. Dedicated overland travel requires the use of specific spring rates suited to heavy loads and continuous mechanical resonance that react differently than ‘standard’ coil spring rates. TeraFlex engineered load-enhanced heavy-duty spring rate coils to meet the performance demands of a fully loaded Jeep and maintain the lift height. Because of the load enhanced spring rate, a firmer ride will be experienced with an empty payload.
The primary thing that determines the overall ride height of a vehicle is the free length of the spring. These longer springs will raise your vehicle above its factory ride height the correct way. Spacers will raise the vehicle, but at the expense of suspension travel, and for off-roading you need to maintain as much suspension travel as possible. Lots of articulation is necessary to keep as many wheels as possible on the ground. Think about it: how much traction does a tire have when it's 6 inches above the ground? The correct answer is: none. Clawing your way up a hill or boulder requires as much traction as possible, so don't give it away by using short springs. TeraFlex's springs are wound specifically to fit your vehicle, and powdercoated to thwart corrosion.
