Attack Stage 2 Cold Intake System by Takeda®. This system is for the enthusiast who wants maximum performance from their sport compact. It positions a high flow performance air filter behind the bumper, where it can take in cooler, denser air. The cool air then flows to the engine through a free-flowing aluminum intake tube. Cooler air contains more oxygen for more complete combustion and more horsepower.
A true cold air intake system will give you the greatest possible performance gain. A free-flowing air intake system that takes in cooler, denser air from outside the engine compartment will provide your engine with more oxygen, and more oxygen in your engine's air intake charge means better combustion, resulting in greater engine output. The Takeda Attack is a true cold air intake system. It places a large, high-flow, conical 360 degree Pro DRY S air filter behind the bumper, where it can take in the coolest air possible and funnel it to your engine through smooth, mandrel-bent aluminum tubing.
The increased flow of cool air starts with the Pro DRY S air filter, which combines high airflow and filtration efficiency with the convenience of oil-free maintenance. It contains 2 layers of randomly porous synthetic fabric, which allows approximately twice the airflow when compared to a typical stock air filter. The increased airflow results in more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and more miles per gallon. But this improved airflow and performance hasn't been gained at the expense of engine protection: the Pro DRY S has an excellent 99.2% filtration efficiency rating. The pleats in the filter are evenly spaced for greater dust holding capacity and the tips are rounded for better airflow. They're also 30% deeper than comparable aftermarket air filters for longer service intervals and greater dust holding capacity.
A specially developed 3-angle velocity stack smoothes the airflow transition from the air filter to the mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube. Unlike factory air intake tubes that have sound baffles and make awkward bends, the Takeda intake tube is designed to give the engine less restrictive breathing, incorporating larger diameters and smooth bends. The end result is the maximum possible airflow velocity. The intake tube is available in wrinkle black or polished clear-coat finish to add style to your engine bay.
The Attack Cold Air Intake System comes with everything needed for installation, including all couplers, hardware, and detailed instructions. Some systems include a Takeda Pre-Filter. This handy accessory for the Pro DRY S air filter prevents it from becoming saturated if splashed by water. When used in dusty conditions it can also extend the filter cleaning interval by filtering and keeping much of the dirt from the filter. This system is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.
