T5i® ABS214A-PAINTED - Factory Style Rear Lip Spoiler (Painted)

I bought the unpainted spoiler and it shipped and arrived very quickly. It's pretty much an exact replica of the OEM trunklid spoiler found on the Civic Hybrid and the 09-11 LX-S model. The design isn't quite right as far as mounting. The bolt holes are placed in the one part of the trunk lid that is extremely difficult to reach by hand and with a screwdriver. The bolt holes should be both about 2-3 inches closer to the center of the trunk where you can easily access and install them. The other frustrating part was that it only came with enough hardware to install, and no extra's for when you drop a screw or washer which you are guaranteed to because of the placement of them being so difficult. This kit needs to come with at least one extra screw and washer, I lost and could not recover one screw and had to make a trip to the hardware store for a replacement. I think for the high cost of this product it could be better. Extra mounting hardware and specific instructions. The instructions I received were for a newer model civic and different spoiler.

I got the polished metal metallic color, and it matches perfectly. This lip spoiler is not a 100% replica of the TL typeS spoiler, but its close enough. The typeS spoiler has a slightly more acute finish. Regardless, anyone would agree that this spoiler flows with the car's style. I used my own silicone adhesive along with the included 3M tape. I've now had it on for 6 months and the thing is still snug.

I did not want to drill into my trunk so I ordered this spoiler that uses double-stick tape although you can also drill if you want. The instructions suggest you mark exactly where you want it on your trunk with masking or painter's tape. I applied the tape around both ends and another six inches towards the center of the spoiler. This step is very important in my opinion because once the spoiler is set in place you can't move it or, if you can, it would be very difficult. The tape used on the spoiler is extremely strong. I also applied adhesive sealant, which was recommended. I positioned the spoiler using the masking tape guide and pressed down. Went perfectly. As I rarely drive this car in inclement weather I won't know if rain affects the double sided tape but I don't think it will. I highly recommend this spoiler. It's not cheap but, being as how this is the only lip spoiler I have come across, the price didn't bother me and I very much like how it looks.

This spoiler looks amazing. Fit is nothing but superb, finish and color match was that of an expensive auto body shop. For the price you would be crazy not to. For some reason the adhesive on one side of my spoiler does not seem to adhere like the rest but it is very solid, secure and has been through a few car washes already. This is an easy fix down the road. You won’t regret this purchase.

This aftermarket spoiler will not let you down, the adhesive is extremely strong and the color is an exact match to the car. Although it’s discreet, it is absolutely a noticeable improvement for anyone who purchased the L or LE model and wants to add a rear lip spoiler. Takes like 5 minutes to install after centering and lining it up with the trunk and then it’s on and looks amazing. Would absolutely recommend this product!
