Launched in 2006, the first Suzuki SX4 was a compact vehicle combining the styling cues of a light crossover and five-door hatchback. In the United States, it was sold as the SX4 Crossover. The American versions of this model differed from what was offered on many other markets, as they came equipped with a standard AWD system and 2.0L inline-four developing 143 hp. One year later, the sedan version named the SX4 Sport was unveiled. This model came with front-wheel drive only. In 2012, the automaker launched the second-gen SX4, but unfortunately, it was not officially offered in the United States due to the company's departure from the American market.
