The Suzuki Kizashi debuted in the USA in July 2009 and came to dealerships as the 2010 model. The Kizashi was developed as a substitute to the mid-size Verona ceased in 2006 and was intended to become a new flagship of the brand. The car was offered with the only 2.4L I4 engine rated at 185 hp and 170 lb·ft that was coupled with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or continuously variable transmission. Although the Kizashi was praised for its advanced mechanics and ride quality that came for a rather reasonable price, its sales were unsatisfactory throughput the production run. As a result, the company phased out the model in North America in 2012.
