SurTrack® - CV Axle Shaft Kit

To start off i had to buy this because i snapped my axle. I snapped it from where the cv axle meets the hub. I’m glad it was just. but the product honestly is pretty good for aftermarket/close to oem, i have a 2011 base c6 with the 6l80 and magnetic suspension. it fit i did ask ahead if it would and the verified it would but i still had my doubts. needless to say everything worked out the parts still good drove about 1k miles, dogged it a little here and there she’s good. one thing though when i took the old cv axle out my c-clip opened up, so i had to take it off heat it up and bend it back. that little clip is discontinued so if you lose that clip it’s gonna be a real pain. the sum it up definitely a good part and not to hard to take apart and put back together. i hopped this helped you guys and i wish you guys nothing but the best on your installation.

It seems like an ok axle, but I think I saw some grease seeping out of the boots.

This axle fits perfectly. As a much less expensive alternative replacement for the original OEM axle. This axle appears to be almost an exact duplicate of the original, except the CV joint is slightly smaller in diameter, but the axle shaft is exactly the same size. This CV Axle appears to be of good quality with pliable boots. I found it to be very difficult in staying clipped into the front differential. I replaced the first new axle under warranty for continuing to pop out after being securely seated. The replacement also popped out, so then I removed the c-clip from the original axle, which was an OEM, and exchanged it with the c-clip on the new axle. This time the axle has stayed in after more than 100 miles. Apparently the round c-clip that came with this new axle didn't securely clip into the differential and the OEM c-clip is more oblong with two very pronounced spots that firmly clip into the differential. Recommend to SurTrack (Traxmotive) to change to an oblong c-clip. Other than this issue I can recommend this axle, especially at its reasonable price point.

My wife's 2011 Ford Explorer had a clicking noise when making a right turn. My local Ford dealership quoted about $450.00 per side. They recommended changing both sides at the same time. I completed both sides in one afternoon with the help of my brother and uncle. I went ahead and changed the brakes while we were in there. Customer Service is on point. The 24/7 chat has been very helpful. I installed these one year ago and we have not had a single problem. It is not as difficult as you may think. I found a YouTube video on how to complete the repair. I got the torque specs online. Save yourself a lot of money and do the repair yourself.

Looks good, fit was good and install was not to bad. Box was not labeled as to which axle it was.
