Steelcraft® BNDL-930541 - 2-Pc HD Series Grille Guard Kit

I bought this grill guard for my 2006 Nissan Xterra. It is really well made and looks sharp on my truck easy to install very happy with this product

Fitment is spot on, looks really good.

I was able to put this product together OK using the instructions. Unfortunately, it seems to be twisted or bent incorrectly, as when it is properly installed, the upper brackets hit the hood when it closes and the drivers side of the guard is so close to the drivers side headlight that it touches. BESIDES that - The product looks great, and you can carefully follow the instructions and have it all done in about 3 hours, less if you have done one like it before. You will need a 2nd person. Unfortunately, when I reached out to CARID for a return or exchange, I was told no. They eventually they offered a $15 gift certificate, then a $30 gift certificate, then a $30 refund, then a $50 refund. That was the most they would do, and would not accept a return or exchange. I told them that was not sufficient, and that instead I would write this review. Since it is shipped by freight, which is a rough way to travel, I recommend that when you accept it you automatically say that the packaging was damaged during shipping. From my chat transcript: THEM: Since the product was already installed, that cannot be returned any longer. I am sorry to inform you ME: how would I have known the product did not fit? THEM: I am sorry for the inconvenience occurred. You had to pre-fit the product before the installation to check if the product fits ME: You cannot pre-fit a product like this ME: The instructions make it clear that the product is not in its final spot until the last step, which requires you to assemble the product, mark a spot, disassemble the product, drill a hole, then reassemble it and tighten all the bolts. you cannot tell if it fits properly until you do all that. THEM: Unfortunately, we cannot accept installed product back I am left to modify this product, attempting to bend it or put in some non-standard brackets to make it fit correctly. For $500 (including shipping), this is just not acceptable. Bad job, CARiD. You could have done way better.

This fit my truck perfectly and looks great. The paper instructions are difficult to follow with the black and white photos but I figured it out. Total install took me about 4 hours. You will need a breaker bar for the bolts on the tow hooks, those suckers are on there tight. The hardest part were the 2 bolts on the top bracket, I could barely move them so took a lot of time to remove then install. Once the brackets are on the 6 bolts are easy to finish. This does interfere with the park sensors. I did not use the included blockers since I have a aux button to turn it off. I'm thinking about relocating the 2 sensors to the guard so I can still use it.

Mounted this on my 2012 Ford Escape a few years ago. Loved the look made my SUV look bigger. Hit a large doe the other day and this saved me from having my SUV totaled. I have some damage ,but my SUV is drivable. The doe broke the weld on the grill guard when she hit it so I will have to replace it, but will definitely buy again. Thank You for the quality product.

Installed 1 of these on my Rav4 V6, did not have to drill any holes. Took my time when I tightened everything. Wow did it tighten up. 4 months later I unfortunately tested it out on a mature whitetail doe. She put her head down and took off across the highway. I was doing 55. Slammed on the brakes hit her full frontal right on the grille guard. figured i hit her doing 40 ish mph. Have done this before. usually smashing my car big time. Well came to a stop pulled off the road got out expecting a smashed front end. NO DAMAGE at all. Had some hair in my grille and some poop on the corner. Amazing product great price saved me around 4,000 bucks damage. I mean no damage to the grill guard as well. The impact killed to deer instantly. No Damage Unbelievable!!!!! Did the install alone with no issues. The Hardest part was just loosening the old nuts to put the mounting plates on.once all the brackets were on install was a breeze, just attached the lower single bolts loosely and hinged it up to put in the top ones. Threw in the rest held it in place and cinched her down!

Pros: This looks great and the quality is very good. Cons: it took a little longer than I expected to install. I suggest getting a buddy to help you. It will be much quicker. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase and recommend it.
