Spider Gears

Often needing attention but often neglected, spider gears, found inside the differential of the vehicle, perform a hard and important function as they transmit the entire load from the ring and pinion gears to the axles. Differential spider gears are able to rotate in two ways: along the ring gear as well as on their own axis. The way in which the gear spins on determines the direction in which the vehicle moves. When you make a right turn, the spider gear wheels around its axis and also revolves along with the ring gear, and so the left side gear has a bigger speed in comparison to the right side gear. And conversely, when the spider gear spins in the opposite manner – the right side gear achieves a greater speed.
The gear faces are very solid and thus not likely to suffer significant wear and tear, though the inside of the gear that lies on the pinion shaft will most probably be worn oblong. The tendency for the vehicle to move from side to side while changing speeds (also known as "torque" steer) will often be caused by a broken differential. New spider gear set is a crucial part of the remedy to this problem. Fortunately, our online store offers top quality front and rear end spider gears, standard gear sets, rear differential spider gears, and other ultimate products to meet your and your vehicle’s needs.
