Spectra Premium® TO7C - Fuel Tank

This tank is not identical to my original tank in dimensions, but is the closest I could find on the market for a: 1998 Ford F-150, 4.6L (4x4); Extended Cab & Step Side Box. Placement of all the holes for pump hanger, vents and vapor pressure sensor were very accurate on this 24.5G tank, for my reinstallation of a new pump hanger and all other fittings topside. Unfortunately, the thin forward portion of my original tank was not included in the design of the F46A, so this replacement tank is slightly deeper to achieve the same volume as the original tank. This created two problems during installation. The 'forward' strap of Spectra's installation kit is about 2 inches too short and requires that the underside of your box cross support rail be shimmed down about 2 inches to create a solid mount, also requiring a longer bolt. Then, I discovered the rock shield, unique to the (4x4) no longer fit correctly due to the increased depth of the F46A tank. This required that I shim all 4 mounting locations down approx 2 inches to maintain proper clearance between the bottom surface of the F46A tank and the rock shield, again using extended bolts to button this job up. Once done thou - it was well worth the extra trouble. The shipping box was broken open during delivery and one of the fuel pump hanger bolts was missing from a free floating, torn plastic bag inside the box (containing new bolts washers and quality hanger assembly seal). I made do, using one of the old bolts. A small thing, but heh. You asked. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. Cheers!

Started noticing a slow leak in my old tank. Replaced it with a new Spectra Premium. Well-built and fit without any issues. Been running it for a few months now with zero problems.

Had issues with my van not taking gas right, as it turned out my tank was messed up inside. It's a big fuel tank so be ready to wrestle with it during install. It fit, no leaks or issues.

The tank arrived in good condition and is exactly as described. Would purchase other products in the future.

Arrived looking ok even though the box it came in was severely damaged. If there was anything else in the box we did not receive it. However, it was installed and is working fine.

Tank was same as OEM at a good price.

Looked everywhere for this tank, everyone locally wanted $500+ for it. Ordered this one, got expedited shipping. Installation is a pain (when is dropping a tank not a pain?). But this was the perfect size, all other components transferred over. Wish it had come with the rubber isolation pads, but we were able to reuse the ones from the old tank.

Looked exactly as pictured. Easy to find on CARiD.com. Perfect fit and function.

I needed a gas tank for a 71 Ranchero GT, the f4c tank was the same size as my old tank except thicker. I order new straps. The tank fits perfectly, the sending unit was on the side. I rerouted the fuel pickup line. Cut the sending unit tube to fit in the rite position. I used my old filler tube which, I cut from the old tank, used the 74 rubber grommet the tube fit and does not leak. Great tank at a great price, thank you, George Smith.
