If your car corners better you won’t be able to appreciate it if you’re busy trying to stay in place behind the wheel in an OE seat. Racing seats are designed for various forms of competition, and many come in different sizes to suit the driver and available cockpit space, but other than that they are universal, and not designed for any particular vehicle.

The brackets and mounting hardware are the interface between the universal seat and your vehicle. We carry the top aftermarket custom seat brands, and these companies as well as specialty bracket and mount manufacturers realized long ago that not many custom seats would be sold unless there was an easy way for customers to mount them in their vehicle without having to perform a lot of cutting, drilling, welding and other types of metal fabrication. While particulars will vary according to brand, seat, and vehicle, in general seat mounting starts with the base, also called the seat bracket, which mounts to the floor of your vehicle, and provides a flat surface on which to mount the seat. Because it uses your vehicle’s factory seat mounts, the base/bracket is vehicle specific. If fore and aft seat adjustment is desired, the tracks, also known as sliders, mount onto the base/bracket. There are bottom and side mount seats. Bottom mount seats will attach directly to the tracks/sliders or base/bracket, while side mount seats require side mount brackets.
