Skilled technicians start by completely disassembling, thoroughly cleaning, and carefully inspecting each cylinder head. Each head is magna-fluxed or dye checked for cracks and all guides are replaced, never knurled, to restore valve stem-to-guide clearance. All valve seats are 3-angle machined for optimal sealing and flow, with new valve seals installed to provide superior sealing and oil control. All valve springs are tested for pressure and replaced as necessary. Valve spring installed height is checked and set to specification. Completed assemblies are pressure tested to ensure water jacket integrity and then shipped in heavy-duty plastic containers to prevent damage during transit.

Replace products are backed by a 3-year warranty with unlimited mileage.

Replace welcomes warranty repair and apologizes to you for being inconvenienced. Most warranty repairs are handled routinely but sometimes requests for warranty service may not be appropriate. If your opinion differs from the decision of Replace, an investigation will be made to determine whether the warranty applies. Please, submit all supporting facts to Replace for review. If Replace decides that the claim is justified, you will be fully reimbursed for those items that are defective. To avoid misunderstanding, below are listed some of the causes of failure that the warranty does not cover.

Normal Wear: our products, like all devices, need periodic service and replacement to perform correctly. Replace warranty will not cover repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part of our product. Replace warranty would not apply if damage to the product has occurred because of misuse, lack of routine maintenance, shipping, handling, warehousing or improper installation. Similarly, our warranty is void if the serial number of the product has been removed or the product has been altered or modified.

Improper Maintenance: The life of a product depends upon the conditions under which it operates and the care it receives. A product worn due to dirt or dust caused by improper maintenance, is not covered by warranty.

This warranty covers product related to defective material and/or workmanship only, and not replacement or refund of the equipment to which the product may be installed. Replace shall not be responsible for lost profits, sales or income, injury to person or property, towing charges, storage fees, telephone calls, freight, substitute transportation, lodging, and unauthorized repairs. That is the customer’s sole and exclusive remedy against Replace for breach of contract. The warranty covers the repair or replacement as set forth above.

Replace warranty does not extend to repairs required because of:

1. Problems caused by parts that are not Replace parts.

2. Damage as a result of overheating, lack of lubrication or contamination.

3. Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident or misuse.

4. Any product used for competition, racing or related purposes.

5. Any product to which a device or accessory has been installed not in compliance with original manufacturer specifications.

6. Periodic maintenance services required by the original manufacturer have not been performed.

7. Damage resulting from improper repair(s) or attempted repair(s) by any service technician.

8. Products used for purposes other than their original intended use.

Replace at its option will repair or replace a product once it determines that the product is defective. For a product to be determined defective it must be sent to Replace for inspection.

Replace will schedule the pickup of the product and pay for its transportation. Any products that are not returned to Replace for inspection will not be covered by this warranty.

All repairs and/or replacements to the products must first be authorized by Replace before the repair/replacement takes place. Replace will not pay for any unauthorized repairs.

Products sent to Replace for inspection which are deemed to be not covered by warranty will be held in storage for a period of 7 days. After 7 days the product will be disposed of by Replace.

Return transportation costs:

Prepaid transportation for part returns under this warranty is limited to domestic United States shipments.

Any product replaced under warranty carry the remainder of the original product’s warranty term.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) Learn More

Pt Cruiser Rebuilt Head Replacement

Replace® 2DE2 - Remanufactured Complete Cylinder Head with Camshaft

This type of cylinder head has to be dismantled to install on vehicle, during this process I always set the valves by tapping on them with a block of wood and a small hammer. While doing this I found a bad valve spring the second exhaust valve was bad so I had to remove one from the old head and replace it. On a scale of 1 to 10 the difficulty of this repair is a 10, it requires a very good mechanic not just a backyard mechanic. Everything has to be perfect otherwise it will not last. The head appeared to be in good shape, it had been resurfaced , and the cam surfaces were not scored. This is very important because they are running steel camshafts on an aluminum head without any bearing surface.If this surface is scored you will lose a lot of oil pressure. This went on a total rebuild, 0 miles and everything at standard specs. Probably one of the most precise engines I have ever rebuilting my 65 yrs.
