When you modify your car for serious racing, you surely try to squeeze maximum horses from your motor. To deliver all that added power to the ground safely and efficiently, you need to upgrade your stock gearbox with high-performance parts and accessories, including racing transmission cases and mounting components. One of the ways of making a racing car more efficient is reducing its weight by eliminating many comfort features and using aftermarket racing parts. Racing transmission cases and removable bell housings and tail housings are cast from lightweight but durable aircraft-grade aluminum. Such a case can be reinforced with a hard steel inner liner to withstand huge forces generated during aggressive driving.
For drag racing applications, some parts of the automatic transmission case must be beefed-up and heat-treated to be ductile and strong, especially if you plan to use a transbrake system. We offer cases with thicker oil pan flanges, reinforced oil pump portion, and additional safety liners for the flexplate and gearbox itself to protect drivers and spectators in case of a catastrophic failure when pieces of broken rotating parts fly out like shrapnel. Some models come with thickened, strengthened walls eliminating the need for extra liners. To keep your racing transmission firmly in place, you need to use special racing mounts that can handle much torque and vibration.
Visit our website to browse our vast catalog of racing transmission mounts and related components designed and produced by some of the most reputable companies. Stock rubber mounts can effectively absorb vibration and impacts, but at the same time, they allow for too much assembly movement, which leads to “sloppy” transmission feel. Besides, rubber doesn’t last long and can deteriorate when exposed to chemically-aggressive liquids. Instead, we recommend using stainless steel mount brackets with durable urethane cushions that come as a direct replacement for stock units. Such mounts can make your gearbox much tighter and are suitable for both street and track use.
