Racing EGR Delete Kits

The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is a NOx emissions reduction method used in internal combustion engines. It diverts a portion of exhaust gases back to engine cylinders through the intake manifold. Mixing exhaust gases with air charge reduces oxygen content in the intake air stream, which makes the air-fuel charge less combustible. This reduces combustion temperature to a level at which nitrogen oxides do not form. Meanwhile, this also reduces your engine’s ability to “breathe” resulting in lost horsepower, while also causing soot buildup in the intake manifold.

To combat this, there are EGR delete kits designed to eliminate this system. Increasing air (oxygen) volume is a common way of gaining power. With the EGR delete installed, O2 is no longer displaced. There is also reduced carbon deposits buildup, so there is less blockage in the system that could cause higher engine temperature, and an added benefit of lower maintenance costs. Bypassing the EGR feature results in improved engine operation and longer lifespan as it will be able to perform to its full potential and run at cooler temperatures. This modification can also result in faster turbo spool and better fuel mileage.

EGR delete kits simply block off the EGR circuit eliminating recirculation. Block off plates and coolant reroute hoses are leak- and pressure-tested to ensure safe and reliable performance.
