Racing Car Decals

Racing decals are an unchanging attribute of virtually any sports car taking part in a competition, the majority of which use vinyl and/or magnetic decals for numbers and driver names. They help for differentiating vehicles on the track and make them stand out from the crowd with unique designs. Racing decals can also be used for promoting products and services provided by team sponsors, representing their official logos or brand names. In addition, racing decals are popular among hot-road and street drivers who want to give their vehicles a sportier appearance without breaking the bank.

There are two major types of racing decals, including vinyl and magnetic ones. Vinyl decals are widely used for customizing the look of a car and giving it a one-of-a-kind appearance. As their name says, they are made from vinyl with an adhesive backing, which is why it is so easy to apply it to a vehicle. Racing vinyl decals are available in plenty of designs, ranging from different strips to stickers and permanent race numbers. All of them allow for washing, waxing or driving through rain or snow, given that a sticker was properly attached to the surface that was free from grease or any dust particles.

Magnetic decals are easy to use design tools, allowing you to customize a vehicle without having to deal with adhesive stickers. Magnetic numbers, rear chip guards, and other magnetic graphics can be attached to any metal surface, however, they will not stick to aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber and other non-ferrous materials. When installing a magnetic decal, it must be warm enough to ensure its flexibility. It is very important since magnetic material is almost inflexible when cold, which makes it difficult to attach the decal to a not perfectly plain surface. It must also be free from moisture and dust to prevent it from flying off at high speeds.

While most racing decals require little to now maintenance, there are several simple rules you should follow to keep your graphics looking great as long as possible and extend its service life. When possible wash all your graphics by hand with a soft sponge and mid detergent. Give preference to polishes that are specially designed for use with car graphics. Store your vehicle indoors whenever possible. The latter is especially important for magnetic decals since moisture and dirt can get trapped between the magnet and the car’s paint, so you can lose your graphics.

Side Graphic
I have got a lot of very positive comments on this graphic on my yellow Camaro. It really rocks! The products were very reasonably priced and professional application cost less than $100. I'm very impressed with them. Thanks.

One Minor Adjustment
I had determined from the manufacturer's photo that the graphics would accommodate to the Camaro fender emblem, however, this is not the case. The emblem must be removed, there is no cutout on the graphics. Having removed mine, I did not re-install them on the surface of the graphics. The vinyl is of top quality, and the cut is made for a perfect fit. They were easy to install with two people. I'm sure one person could easily do this if they were familiar with vinyl applications. The instructions are well written and very clear. Was at the Chevy dealer for service last week, and the service believed they were painted on. (nice fit!)
