    Product Details

    Front Leaf Spring Eye and Shackle Bushing Kit by Prothane®. In leaf spring-type suspensions there are significant forces focused on the pivot points and shackles. For this reason, it is imperative to replace the soft, blown-out OEM rubber bushings with PROTHANE™ premium grade polyurethane components. All related sleeves, etc. are precision fabricated to assure a perfect fit. The original rubber bushing or mount was fairly soft which helped to dampen noise and vibration that is generated by the tires and road surface. Increasing the hardness of the bushing either with harder rubber, urethane or even bronze, will allow more transmission of noise and vibrations. Prothane formulate the hardness and design to reduce this effect as much as possible. A softer urethane bushing allows the vehicle to perform better without the harshness, even over rubber components of the same hardness. So, the real change in ride quality is increased performance!
