    Z16 Evolution Clean Ride Ceramic Rear Disc Brake Pads (16-2102) by PowerStop®. PowerStop brake pads are engineered for noise free braking with dual rubber backed shims that offer 6 times more noise reduction than plain steel shims. The pad surfaces are thermal scorched for fast break-in. Evolution pads feature a true ceramic formula that keeps wheels cleaner, and won’t wear-out the rotors. PowerStop pads have 20% more stopping power than other leading brands. The premium ceramic compound is made using OE positive mold technology, that assures a uniform friction density throughout the pad and this helps control noise and premature wear. Evolution pads are manufactured under TS16949 standards to OEM specifications including chamfers and slots.

    Installation

    The true ceramic formula also generates far less ugly brake dust on your wheels, and wears less cast iron off your rotors. Every set of pads is supplied with PowerStop’s engineered dual-rubber-backed shims, which provide 6 times the noise reduction of the OEM plain steel shims. With 20% more stopping power, these are the pads to choose for everyday use. They’re manufactured to OEM standards, with all the proper slots and chamfers for a perfect fit and long life. Posi-mold pads enable consistent density as the material is hot pressed into a mold at over 6,000 psi. The result is consistent performance and low noise. All pads are asbestos free.

    Here’s another PowerStop exclusive: Thermal Scorching. When brake pads are properly broken in, there’s a band of pad material several millimeters thick that’s been baked free of organic binders. That band progresses through the pad as it wears, keeping the gummy binders from transferring to the rotor surface and reducing brake effectiveness. PowerStop Z16 pads are treated with their Thermal Scorching process to establish that band before the pads ever leave the factory. That means a fast, consistent bedding-in.

    PowerStop also uses the best technology for anti-squeal shims: constrained steel. A sandwich of two layers of steel with a viscoelastic layer between them prevents acoustic coupling between the pad and caliper piston, eliminating brake squeal. Other manufacturers attempt to use a single layer of steel or a layer of Teflon to achieve this. PowerStop’s solution, while pricier, is far more effective.

    A little difficulty in getting the pads to seat on the new rotors, but after a few miles on the highway it was all good. Dusty pads and dust all over the wheels after a few miles. Functions great!

    Good But Dusty
    The braking performance is fine but if you are looking for a "Clean Ride" forget about these. These produce more dust than the OEM pads did.
