Power steering coolers are designed to protect the power steering fluid from overheating. It helps to prevent damage to power steering system components and maintain a smooth function of the entire system. A power steering oil cooler is mounted on the radiator support, so that the air flow can reach a cooler through the grille. The cooler is linked to the power steering pump and also to the power steering fluid reservoir with hoses. In general, it functions similarly to the radiator. This component features fines and tubes, which absorb the heat from the power steering fluid. After that, the heat is transferred to the passing air.

A power steering fluid cooler can get damaged and start leaking. If cooler fins are out of order, they may perform a cooling function less efficiently. The power steering oil cooler may also become clogged with contaminants or old fluid that has got into the reservoir. All of these issues may hinder the power steering function. If it is a faulty cooler that causes those problems, replace it. We stock quality power steering coolers as well as all related components, including power steering return hoses to help you complete your repair job.

Works
It said it would be an exact fit for my 2006 crown vic but it was an inch or two too short. Had to bend out the part that hooks to the bracket to try and make it work. Had to end up securing it with heavy duty zip ties but it works
