With its minimalistic body style, the Porsche 914 was a mid-engined two-seat roadster which embodied the spirit of the upcoming 1970s, offering moreover outstanding performance and introducing several interesting features, such as the all-independent suspension which provided excellent handling. Available either as a coupe or a Targa, the Porsche 914 was a choice of a passionate and relatively small group of amateurs, both in Europe and in the U.S. The production ended in 1976, when the 914 was replaced with the Porsche 924.
