The Pontiac Vibe was a compact hatchback produced and distributed by Pontiac from 2003 to 2010. The Vibe was developed as a joint project between General Motors and Toyota, who was manufacturing the similarly-engineered Toyota Matrix. Produced by the Toyota-GM joint venture NUMMI in the city of Fremont, California, the Pontiac Vibe was marketed as a successor to the Geo Prizm also produced at NUMMI and just like the Prizm, it was a derivative of the Toyota Corolla. Beginning 2002 to 2004, a badge-engineered right-hand drive model of the Vibe was being exported as the Toyota Voltz to Japan.
