The Pontiac Parisienne was a full-size rear-wheel drive automobile that was built by Pontiac on the GM-sourced B platform in Canada during 1959 - 1986 and in the U.S. during 1983 - 1986. The Parisienne wagon was continued to be marketed under the Safari name all the way up until 1989. When the Parisienne nameplate was discontinued in 1986, full-size Pontiac fans had received a new redesigned Bonneville for 1987. This automobile offered front-wheel drive and a standard V6 in line with Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, full-size autos. Rear-wheel drive sedans were brought back to the Pontiac vehicle range with the Holden-manufactured Pontiac G8 in 2008.
