The Pontiac G5 is a compact coupe marketed primarily in Canada. It was a badge-engineered variant of the Chevy Cobalt, differing from its corporate sister in some exterior and interior features such as headlights, tail lights, twin-port grille, interior trim and equipment. Pontiac's model had more generous base equipment than its twin, offering keyless entry and power windows as standard. The uplevel GT trim came with sporty suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, and cruise control. The G5 came equipped with a 2.2L or a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that made 148 hp or 173 hp respectively, mated to a 5-speed manual as standard or a 4-speed automatic as an option. This compact runabout was discontinued in 2009 with the demise of the Pontiac brand.
