Many hotels, restaurants, and airlines have recognized this trend and are becoming “pet friendly”, to accommodate four-legged guests. But the family car is where pets travel most often, so it should be the first place that is made “pet friendly”. Your lap may be your dog’s favorite place at home, but it’s not the best place for him to be when you’re behind the wheel. Distracted driving is a real problem, and an excitable pup could easily impair your vision, movement or attention span, causing a crash - in which your unrestrained pet could be badly injured.
