Orion Car Audio

Orion, the brand of American MD Audio Engineering, is a renowned manufacturer of high performance car audio systems. The Orion product line includes a variety of subwoofers, speakers, amplifiers, crossovers and components. Successfully combining more than thirty years of experience and cutting-edge technologies, the brand has gained wide recognition among drivers all over the globe. Their products deliver incredibly high sound quality combined with high reliability, greatly contributing to the popularity of the company.

Orion was established back in 1984 and its product line was first revealed next year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The company achieved success and later, in 1987, moved to a larger office. But that wasn't all. In 1990 Orion moved again to a 30,000 sq. ft. complex. More than 110 employees worked for the company at that time; it had nearly 600 dealerships in the U.S. and in 14 other countries. Several successful years followed, largely thanks to Orion HCCA series. In 2001 Orion was acquired by Directed Electronics.

In 2004, at CES, Orion earned a prestigious Innovations Award for its H2 15.2 Subwoofer, setting the benchmark for the following Orion subs. Next year they introduced the D5000, a 5000-watt amplifier, that is not only one of the largest Orion amplifiers, but also one of the largest amplifiers in the world. In 2012 Orion was acquired by MD Audio Engineering, and Orion's most popular lines were relaunched. The list of current brand's lines includes such famous series as HCAA, XTR and XTR Pro, Cobalt, and others that were praised by numerous drivers in many countries since the 1980s. Orion amps, subs and speakers are synonymous with premium sound quality, remarkable reliability and reasonable price.
