Product Details
Input Shaft by Omix-ADA®. With 21 Teeth. Direct Fit. OE Style. Material: Steel. The shift shafts move back and forth in bores in the transmission case in response to the movement of the shift lever. Attached to the shift rails are the shift forks, which move the synchronizer sleeves to shift the gears. A defective shift shaft can cause shifting problems like hard shifting/gear clashing, jumping out of gear, inability to shift into gear, or being locked in one gear. If your shift shaft is defective, Omix-ADA has the new replacement that will have you shifting smoothly again.
During transmission disassembly, check for broken shift shafts and inspect intact shafts for cracks or a bent condition. Check the detents, holes and notches in each shaft for wear. Each shaft should move freely in its bore with minimal play.
If symptoms and inspection determine the need for a new shift shaft, get the one that's designed and specifically manufactured for your Jeep. It's made to fit and function the same or better than original equipment, so you can be assured that installation will go smoothly and operation will be flawless. The shift shaft is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
