The Nissan 200SX is a rebadged version of the Nissan Silvia marketed in North America since 1979. The 200SX was built off Nissan’s S-body platform and featured a rear wheel-drive layout. This sports car was originally available in coupe and hatchback body styles riding on a 94.5 inch wheelbase. At its debut, the 200SX was outfitted with a 2.0L I4 or an optionally available 1.8L turbocharged I4. 1987 ushered in the first significant facelift of this automobile. The refreshed 200SX gained a more robust 3.0L V6 rated for 160 hp. Throughout its lifetime, this sports car had experienced a number of improvements, having slightly grown in size and having received a sleek aerodynamic exterior design. The production of the Nissan 200SX was discontinued in 2002.
