NGK® - Laser Platinum™ Spark Plug

Put these in a 2014 Escape with 127k mi and immediately had misfires and drive ability issues after I did the valve cover gasket. Ended up putting the old plugs back in and car drove just fine. Too high of a performance plug for this specific application.

I finely installed these NGK 4998 plugs and I guess I was right. I now have a misfire on number 6 code so am going to put back my Bosch 9661. It might be the plugs or might not but thats the only thing different about the Jeep. I will will let you know after I replace them

After looking on the computer for a good price on NGK 4998 plugs for the Jeep I found CARiD which had a great price for them $6.75 ea. Every other web page was asking $10 to $15 ea, one site was selling them for $26.31 ea. Which really makes me wonder if these plugs are the real thing. Like the old saying goes if the deal is too good to be true it usually is not. So am really not in a big hurry to install these until I find out if these are real NGK 4998 or cheap knock offs that will destroy my motor.

This is an outstanding quality, original equipment spark plug that will give new life to your gasoline motor. This one in particular went into my Honda Civic. I noticed an immediate improvement in smoothness and starting after installation. I've never had any quality issues with any NGK plug I've used over the years - quality is top notch. Be sure to size the gap to your particular application, however, as the factory gap is not universal to all motors. (unlike some modern automotive plugs that are pre-gapped to a specific distance and are not meant to be adjusted).

Exact spark plugs as the one originally installed in my vehicle. Plugs are pre-gap. Just remove the old plugs and install the new. The original spark plugs I removed has 108,000 on it and still looks good. Since it's the exact replacement, It should function the same way as long as tightened/installed properly.

Spark Plugs, Air/Cabin Filters, etc. This is the best price for this platinum spark plug that I've found in my search. I have a Toyota Matrix and this was recommended for my vehicle from Toyota Parts Department, but the price was nearly doubled that of CARiD 's. In addition, I've ordered other parts from this company and have found their quality, selection, price are the best that I've come across.
