The production of the Mercury Milan was launched in 2005. The model was designed as a four-door mid-size sedan equipped with either front-wheel or four-wheel drive layout. Three options of engine were available: a 2.3L Duratec 23 I4, 2.5L Duratec 25 I4 and 3.0L Duratec 30 V6. A manual gearbox was presented in a five-speed Mazda G5M and a six-speed Mazda G6M alternatives, while automatic offered a five-speed Mazda FNR5, a six-speed Aisin TF-80 and a six-speed Ford 6F35 variant. Apart from this, there was also an Aisin continuously variable transmission available. The production of the model was discontinued after 2010.
