However, sales of the series have exceeded Mazda’s expectations, inspiring the company to export the model to other countries. Since 1971, the B-Series was officially marketed in the USA. The series consisted of multiple models that were named after their engine displacement, for instance the B1600 (1.6L) or B2000 (2.0L). Mazda dropped the production of the final, fifth generation of the B-Series in 2006.
