Product Details

Wire Harness with Relay by Maradyne®. Wire up your Maradyne electric fan easily with these harness and relay kits. You should always power any fan that draws more than 10 Amps with a separate relay to keep from overtaxing any circuits in the fuse panel. And the best way to control the fan is with a water-temperature-controlled temperature switch. Choose an adjustable switch so you can decide when the fan comes on, or a preadjusted switch. To improve A/C performance, add a harness that uses a relay to turn on the fan anytime that the compressor clutch is activated. All harnesses are preassembled with the appropriate connectors precrimped in place. No soldering required.

Installation

Some of the fan kits include these wiring harness/relay/fuse kits already: you may not need to purchase these accessories to make your new Maradyne fan operate. Or, you may choose to custom wire your own fan using these preassembled kits. All kits (except the MFA 120) have an in-line fuse holder and fuse.

Use the MFA 100 or MFA 120 kit with adjustable ON temperature. These kits use a probe that is inserted into the radiator between the fins and tubes as near to the inlet hose as feasible. The MFA 100 has a relay, permitting the use of fans that consume 10 amps or more.

Use the MFA 102 or MFA 103 with preset ON temperature if you don't see the need to pick your own unique set temperature. The MFA 102 kit turns the fan on at 185°F, the MFA 103 at 195°F, and both use a sender that has 3/8" NPT threads. How to plumb the sensor into the cooling system is left up to you, but many cars will already have a drilled and tapped port ready.

The MFA 101 has a relay that switches the fan on and off whenever the A/C compressor clutch is on, providing extra cooling air to the condenser.

If you have dual fans, you'll need an MFA 111 dual-fan adapter harness. This harness has a relay and fuse to operate the second fan.
