Product Details
PCV Breather Element by MANN-Filter®. With the help of a crankcase ventilation system, vapors that include oil vapor, combustion blowby, and moisture are channeled into the intake air stream, where they are added to the air/fuel mixture and burned. This filter cleans the air drawn through the crankcase to mix with the vapors.
To prevent vapors from building up the pressure inside the crankcase that can cause gasket and seals failure resulting in leaks, these gases must be allowed to escape from the crankcase. However, crankcase vapors cannot be released into the atmosphere as they include large amounts of hydrocarbons and other gases. This is why crankcase gases are channeled into the intake air stream, where they are added to the air/fuel mixture and burned.
