    Product Details

Catalytic Converter (452405) by MagnaFlow®. Converter Configuration: Direct Fit. Position: Front Rearward. Without Air Tube. With Pre and Post-Cat O2 Sensor Ports. Catalytic Inlet Diameter: 2". Catalytic Outlet Diameter: 2". Catalytic Converter Overall Length: 40.4". If your car needs replacement, install one that will get you through the smog check. This converter will directly replace the factory unit, with little or no fabrication required.

The Direct Fit Catalytic Converter is an exact replacement for your stock converter, with an interface at either end that will allow it to be bolted into the exhaust system. No fabrication or modifications are usually required. It’s available in OBD II (On-Board Diagnostics, 2nd Generation), Pre-OBD II, and OEM Grade OBD II configurations. Pre-OBD II is for early vehicles (generally 1995 or older), which were equipped with 2-way, 3-way, or 3-way with air injection converters. Two-way converters oxidize harmful Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) along with secondary oxygen into water (H2O) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Along with the previously detailed conversion, a 3-way converter also reduces oxides of nitrogen (NOx) into Nitrogen (N2). The 3-way with air injection converter operates the same as a 3-way converter but with the addition of air pumped into the converter to improve the oxidation capabilities.

OBD II converters are for 1995 and newer vehicles and are 3-way converters. OEM Grade OBD II converters are for vehicles registered outside of the state of California, with California spec emissions. More precious metals are applied to the substrate on these converters to further reduce emissions. To determine if this converter is right for your vehicle, find the VECI (Vehicle Emissions Control Information) label in the engine compartment and look for the word “California” on the label.

On vehicles registered outside the state of California, MagnaFlow warrants the Direct Fit Catalytic Converter to be free of manufacturer’s defects for a period of 5 years and emissions failure for 25,000 miles. Direct Fit Catalytic Converters on vehicles registered in California carry a 5 year, 50,000 mile warranty against manufacturer’s defects and emissions failure.

    Excellent!!
Order this part because my truck catalytic converter was stolen. It arrived right away, installation was quick everything fit perfectly and sounds great. The hardest part was connecting to the headers because you got to reuse the hardware, it doesn't come with bolts and nuts. Great product!

    Good Part, Fitment Is Off.
This part performs great but the mount points are a bit off. The hang bar is probably a few inches closer to the underside than it should be making lining up everything a pain, and it's forcing the rubber off to one side pretty badly. It also seems like meeting up with the manifold cat is pretty tight. The flexible part doesn't have much wiggle room so I'm somewhat worried it may wear out pretty quickly. Honestly don't regret getting it, just that install is somewhat difficult.

    Fit perfectly, Works fine.
I intended to install it myself, but I couldn't break the rusted bolts loose without a rattle wrench so I had a local mechanic install it. The only problem he had was breaking a bolt. Still much less expensive than having the dealer replace it.

    Didn't Fit
After spending 30-40 min. on the phone with an advisor to help pick the right "direct fit" catalytic converter it did not fit. I needed the help because although I type in the yr, make, model etc it still showed multiple configurations. He promised this is the one. Nope.

    MagnaFlow for 1993 Ford F150 4.9l Engine
This MagnaFlow exhaust is absolutely perfect in every way. Stainless steel, precision fabricated, perfect! I paired this excellent section of exhaust with a Flowmaster rear section, by the way clamps are used which exerts a clamping force which doesn't deform the outer walls of the exhaust pipe. Makes for a smoother transition for the exhaust exiting. One note, don't forget to get a new oxygen sensor, you'll have the exhaust off anyway right? Also some anti-seize lubricant, use this on the clamps to facilitate removal if ever needed. By the way do not be alarmed, new exhaust systems will burn off the lubricant. It'll smoke until it cools away.
