When you’re trying to make your way through thick fog along an unfamiliar roadway, your headlights’ low beams are no help because their light just reflects off the water droplets back into your eyes, impairing rather than improving your vision, and high beams only worsen that effect. But even if you have fog lights, their dim halogen bulbs may not provide the illumination you need to see the road. Lumen Projector LED Fog Lights are the foul weather visibility solution. They have the bright, properly directed beams you need to show the way through the most impenetrable fog. But with these fog lights you get much more. When the fog light function is off the projector beams glow red with “demon eyes” surrounded by a bright halo ring, and when the turn signals are switched on the halo turns amber.
The powerful LEDs in these Lumen fog lights direct their light using projector beam technology. With their small elliptical reflectors, projector beams produce a sharper, more focused beam of light without the scatter loss that is common with parabolic reflectors. Together, the LEDs and projector beams produce a bright, white, wide and flat pattern of light with a sharp cutoff at the top of the beam, illuminating the road ahead of your vehicle. The halo rings and red “demon eyes” can be wired to come on with the ignition key and act as DRLs, increasing your daytime driving safety, or wired to come on with the parking lights. When the fog lights are switched on the red turns to the bright white light you need to cut through dense fog. There is also a connection for the turn signal circuit to enable the switchback function so the halo will turn amber when the turn signals are switched on.
Lumen Projector LED fog lights are impervious to shock and vibration, so they’re perfect for vehicles used on off-road adventures. The rugged aluminum housings and strong polycarbonate lenses are sealed for protection from the intrusion of dust and moisture, for reliable operation under all weather conditions. These Lumen LED fog lights are constructed application specific for an easy, bolt-on installation. A harness with connector and pigtail is supplied to wire the fog lights, and additional wiring is required to connect the “demon eyes” and switchback turn signals. They meet all applicable quality and regulatory standards and they’re completely legal for highway use. Since LEDs don’t use as much power as halogen bulbs, some vehicles may exhibit flickering, bulb out warnings, or dashboard error messages when LED lights are installed in place of halogen lights. Resistors and/or CAN Bus decoders are available to eliminate such problems; however, they are not included and must be purchased separately.
