A successor of the Lincoln Mark IV, the Lincoln Mark V is a luxury 2-door coupe manufactured in the United States between 1976 and 1979. The model was largely based on its predecessor’s construction, being equipped with a powerful V8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. With this Mark model, the fuel economy was significantly improved, a new “miles-to-empty” indicator was added to the panel and some other technical updates were done. Overall, the Lincoln Mark V became the most successful model in the whole Lincoln Mark series as the company sold about 75,000 units yearly in 1976-1979.
