Fuel Tank Straps for 1959 Ford Skyliner
I ordered a set of gas tank mounting straps for my 1959 Ford Skyliner. The straps are quality stainless steel construction. The straps fit perfectly. They are the same length and width as the OEM straps. The mounting bolts they supply with the straps are not correct. They include straight bolts and nuts. The OEM bolts are j-bolts. You will need to reuse your old j-bolts, if they are reusable and not too rusty. If they are not in reusable condition, you will need to fine some j-bolts that are close in size to the OEM bolts. I made a set from a u-bracket I bought at ACE Hardware. I highly recommend this product for all 1957-1959 Ford Skyliner owners who need to replace their gas tanks and mounting straps.

Perfect Replacement
Installed on a 1998 Toyota Camry with over 320000 miles. The whole job took less than an hour. This can be done with the car on jack stands but a lift would make things easier. You do need to reach up behind the gas tank and spare tire cavity. No special tools are needed. One hose clamp on the main tube and two small pinch hose clamps on the vent tubes. The mounting brackets are different from the original but line up perfectly with the mounting holes. The hardest part was reinstalling the plastic protection cover in the wheel well. I just loosened the mounting bolts (2) and that gave me enough play to get the plastic cover back on. Packaging was great. The filler tube was well protected for shipping.

No One Else Had This Fuel Tank
The product looked pretty good considering the packaging was torn and not very protected. Service was as quick as could, being coming such a great distance through the border and 6 hours north. When I called to see the status of it, the support line was very helpful and part came before the time they estimated. Overall very pleased with the service and fuel tank from this company. They were the only ones that were able to supply this fuel tank so, thankful they were willing to send it as far as they did.
